Our Policies

Please review all of our policies before booking your hotel stay with us.

Check In & Check Out

Check in begins at 2 PM- early check in's will not be allowed.

To minimize interaction and increase safety measures between staff and guests, all check ins will be handled remotely if possible. The check in information, which would normally be given to a guest upon arriving at the hotel, will be sent in advance, via email. All remaining payments left on a guest's account will be taken the day of a guest's arrival. 

Additionally, we can no longer store any guest's items, luggage, or property before check in or after check out. You MAY, however, pick up your beach badges before formal check in time. See the Beach Badges Section for additional details. 

As always, check out is 11 AM.

▸ Cancellations

Cancellations must be made 2 weeks prior to the date of check in for full refund. Within that two week period, we reserve the right to hold on to any deposit placed on the account. Please note, The Grand Victorian Hotel is not responsible for inclement weather, and will not waive the this fee for weather.

▸ BEACH BADGES & ROOM KEYS

All room keys must be returned at check out, and beach badges must be returned by 5pm on the day you check out. The Grand Victorian Hotel allocates two badges per room; additional badges may be obtained for a one-time fee of $25 per badge which you may use for the entire duration of your stay. All badges are due back at the same time.  A fee of $100 per badge will be charged for any badge lost or not returned. Children under 10 do not need a beach badge in Spring Lake. 

In order to minimize interaction with guests, we are now adding the Beach Badge Policy to our general Terms & Policies-- by booking with us, you recognize our right to charge $100 per beach badge, if lost by a guest.



 Noise Policy

Because the Hotel is a very old home (built in 1883), we ask that everyone be considerate of their neighbors in adjacent rooms. Because of this, we have a strict noise policy. If more than one noise complaint is received due to specific guest(s), the individual(s) may be removed immediately without any refund and may be subject to a fine of $250 for the disturbance

QUIET HOURS 10:00PM - 8:00AM

▸ NO SMOKING

No smoking or vaping is permitted in any of the rooms or on any of the grounds.
This includes the courtyard, the bike rack area, and anywhere on the front porch, including the front steps.

 

▸ Guests & groups

Please note all rooms are based off of double occupancy. If there are any additional guests in the room over the age of 10 there is an additional charge per person of $25 per night, plus tax. Pack & Plays and/or Rollaways are available at $35 a night, plus tax (this includes the $25 additional person surcharge). The number of rollaways and Pack & Plays are limited, so we ask that these be requested as far in advance as possible to make sure all rooms that need them are able to use them.

▸ Pet Policy

We are unable to accommodate pets; pet boarding facilities are available nearby.

▸ Parking

For overnight parking (12AM-6AM), all vehicles must be parked facing the ocean in the 45 degree angled spots on Ocean Ave only. All parking in Spring Lake is free. We have a very small parking lot in the back of our building, and spots are often taken early; we advise that guests anticipate parking on the street. We do have a temporary parking spot out front, designated with yellow lines, for the purpose of unloading your luggage. Some of our rooms do come with their own guaranteed on-site parking. Please call the front desk for additional questions regarding rooms with parking available. 

Minimum Nights

Summer Season- Memorial Day through Labor Day- we have a two night weekend minimum for all rooms on the second floor (private bath floor).

On holiday weekends including Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, a 3-night minimum is required for all rooms on second floor (private bath floor).

 

Bikes

We do not have bikes on premise but do provide a space for you to lock up your bikes at night, as long as you provide your own locks. Should you choose to bring your bikes,  please note The Grand Victorian is not responsible for anything lost or stolen from our property. There are several bike shops in the nearby area and are listed on our Attractions Page.
